My work is informed by my fascination for rocks; I am particularly interested in geological process and its influence on the topography of the places I choose as subjects for my paintings. Making graphite rubbings of the local rock, physically making contact with the landscape, is important to me; the rubbings also have an intrinsic beauty and are often in themselves the starting point for a work.
